Zwischen den beiden Weltkriegen beteiligte sich Church's aktiv an der Entwicklung der Schuhindustrie im Allgemeinen. 1919 wurde die British Boot, Shoe and Allied Trades Research Association mit Church's als Gründungsmitglied gegründet. Als Ergebnis dieser Partnerschaft wurde 1925 das Northampton Technical College gegründet. Daraus wurde 2005 die University of Northampton. Das Familienunternehmen wurde 1999 von Prada übernommen und hat seitdem seine Filialen nach Übersee ausgeweitet.  Im Jahr 2014 beschäftigte das Unternehmen 650 Mitarbeiter. Im selben Jahr übernahm Church's angrenzende Räumlichkeiten in der St. James Road, früher eine Straßenbahn und später ein Busdepot, in Erwartung einer weiteren Expansion, die weitere 140 Arbeitsplätze schaffen könnte.
